Use Time Capsule As Backup Drive Only?
    Hello,

I would like to upgrade my network by installing a more robust and secure router. I am currently using the time capsule as my router and backup drive for time machine. Is it possible to use the time capsule as a backup drive only and disengage the router portion of the device?
    Thanks

    Specs:
    MBP 17" 2011, 2.3GHz Intel Quad-Core i7, 8GB RAM, MacMini 2011, 2.7GHz Intel Dual-Core i7, 8GB RAM
you would set up your new router, then use the AirPort Utility to set the Time Capsule to be an extender - it still has to be on the network, but no, it does not have to be a router.
