    Firewall Question
Which setting should my Macbook Firewall be on? I don't know if it does but I have a router and I heard that makes a difference.

    Specs:
    Macbook Pro 13"
    Enable firewall.

    Enable stealth mode.

All the other stuff is up to you, but those two are very important. =D

Stealth mode is located under "Advanced" options. You may have to click on the small lock at the bottom of the dialog first to access the Advanced options.

Thank You I found it. So should I have the firewall set to Set Access for Specific Services and Applications or one of the other options?

Keep it set for specific applications or services. That will offer you the best protection. You can also download the free "noobproof" firewall configuration tool application which acts as a graphic front end for the firewall. It offers more options and settings. Very easy to use. Download from here.

    Regards.

Thank you for all your help. Do I need to configure the programs though? Because I don't know how to do that on a Mac as my Mac is just over a few months old.

Program configuration is not necessary in OS X. When a program tries to access the net for the first time, the firewall will ask you. All you have to do is supply an answer, yes or no. You can access some advanced settings by opening System Preferences, Security, Firewall. Click on the small lock, provide your password and then click on advanced settings. From there you'll see some more options. But you really should not need to do so except on rare occasions.

    Regards.

For Safari, click accept. If you decline, Safari will not work right.
