I have a new iMAC connected to my Linksys wireless router. How can I tell if my iMAC is connected at G or N speeds?

hold down the option key and click on the airport icon in the menu bar, if your Transmit Speed is greater than 54 you're on N for certain. My transmit rate shows 59 right now, through 2 brick walls.mike

Go into the utilities folder in your applications section and click on network utility. Under the info tab, pull down the "network interface (en1)" section. Look at Model Wireless Network Adapter and it will say something along the lines of 802.11 a/b/g/n. If there is an "n" there, that means you are wireless-n capable and provided you have a wireless-n router you will be getting those speeds. If there is no n there then you need to go on the apple site and download the wireless-n update for $1.99.
