widget help

So I just downloaded the mini airport widget, but all I see is an icon that I can drag around. how do I actually open the widget. I am kind of new to Mac.

Also, when I downloaded Firefox, an icon also popped up after the download. And all I can do is drag it around.

they mini airport widget is not like one of those. Could some one show how to install this program?

Also, after I installed firefox, and put it in the applicatios, it would not allow me to eject the image. after I restarted computer, a warning sign comes up saying "are you sure you want to open this file downloaded from the computer?" and then I click open, and run firefox. But there is still a disk image on the desktop screen.

To install firefox.

1. Download the firefox disk image.
2. Mount it if it isn't already mounted.
3. Copy the "Firefox" file from the disk image to your applications folder.
4. Unmount the image. It has to unmount unless you have double click the "Firefox" file from the image. If you have firefox open, quit it.
5. Be on your way.

As for the widget, it involves just double clicking it. From whence the dashboard will pop up and give you an option "Delete" "Keep". Once you hit keep it will be there in the dashboard.
