iPhoto modified and original

When using iPhoto as you pry all know if you edit a picture like red eye remover or touch it up a bit it will save that edited picture into a different folder. I am not limited on space, but just like to free up as much as possible and get rid of the stupid stuff, so is there a way where it just saves all the pictures (edited or original) into just one folder. Like the modified will just replace the original?

There is a utility that will do this, I think it's called iPhoto diet.
