    burning to disk issues
    Hi I am new here and have a question. I am trying to burn a cd and I bought new photography grade discs and am having issues burning pictures to them. sometimes it says failed and sometimes it says disc cant be burned because the device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media. what do I do the disc is JVC/Taiyo Yuden is that not compatible. I have a macbook pro thanks

    There's no need to purchase specialized disks to burn photos. Any good quality brand of disk should suffice. It sounds like the disks you purchased may not be compatible, however, it could also be the fault of your optical drive. I suggest cleaning the drive first. We recommend buying a can of compressed air at any store which sells them and blow several short blasts of air in the drive opening. Then try again.

    Sometimes its just dirt or dust I tried the compressed air trick and that worked once then the second time I used a lens cleaner (caution use at your own risk) and it worked for me but if its under warranty take it back to Apple if you have tried another brand and it still does not work.

    I only did because Im a photographer and they are discs with a photo and my logo on it I will try it but I dont think that is the problem

    I agree, I don't think the discs are the problem. On the other hand: when you say they have a photo and your logo on them, do you mean there is a printed (paper) label on them?
