    Computer vs. Camera memory
Can someone explain to me why it is I can buy 1GB of memory for my camera, for $99.99 and 1GB of memory for a computer at $300.00. It does not compute

    Specs:
    MacBook | 1.83ghz | 2gb ram
I'm not sure if this is what you mean exactly but memory for cameras and memory for computers are very very different. 1GB of 'memory' for a camera is just the same as 1GB of HD space. Whereas 1GB of 'memory' for a computer is RAM, nothing to do with how many files you can store.

    Is that what you mean?

    Specs:
    1.67 Ghz 17" PB w/1 GB Ram; 400 MHz PM G4, 366Mhz iBook Firewire, Nano 4GB Black
Computer Ram ("Memory"): Used to run stuff
Computer Hard Drive: Used to store stuff
Camera Memory: Used to store stuff
Camera Ram? Doesn't technically exist, although certain cameras do use things similar to ram, it isn't upgradeable.

You can get the RAM much cheaper. I bought 4 1GIG simms for 575. (G5 memory)...works great.
