    All Images mystery..
Today I found out to my surprise that All Images holds all photos that I had already deleted from Iphoto ages ago. I don't know if the photos on All Images are taking memory space on the hard drive and I should have deleted stuff there too. Can anyone enlighten me, please.
    Thank you!

    Specs:
    Mac Mini Core i7 2012 | White 2009 MacBook 2 Ghz | 733 Mhz G4 Quicksilver
IPhoto doesn't actually delete them, it puts them in a trash area

I don't have iPhoto on my Mac (I use Picasa), but there should be a command or icon to empty iPhotos trash permanently

    Specs:
    15" MBP '06 2.33 C2D 4GB 10.7; 13" MBA '11 1.8 i7 4GB 10.10; 21" iMac '13 2.9 i5 8GB 10.10; 5s & 5c
And the "All Images" in Finder is not a folder. It is a search of your drive showing "all images" in whatever location they happen to be.

Be very careful when deleting images from this search unless you know specifically what it is you are deleting. This search returns all the icons, thumbnails, etc. from all the applications on your machine.

The Trash for iPhoto is located in the sidebar of iPhoto.

We really can only make a whole bunch of guesses.

Just one example - You imported the pics to your computer and then imported them into iPhoto and left the pics also sitting in the original location.

You can see the location by highlighting any item in the All Images.

If the "All Images" saved search is seeing them, then at least a thumbnail of the picture is residing on your computer SOMEWHERE.
