new to Photoshop CS4 for Mac
    Hi,

I have just switched to Mac Photoshop CS4 from the Windows version. Is there any way you can set it to have a solid background for photos rather than having the Mac desktop as a background?

    Help would be appreciated!

    You can choose to run
CS4 as a "Windows" type program. Go to Window on the main menu and check off "Application Frame". That will give you the solid working space background.

Is there a way to change the background on CS2?

    Pressing F does nothing.

That only works when a photo is on the screen, is there a way to keep the plain background all the time?

No, not that I'm aware off.

TBH, I like seeing the desktop through Ps - wish the Windows version was the same.

I find it annoying, but each to their own.

I don't see why it is so difficult to hit F after the image loads in. And me too prefers the image to be a floating window.

Right click on the grey area and you get some choices.
