Microsoft Messenger with Crossover or any other way?
Is it possible to use the latest Windows version of Microsoft Messenger with Crossover? And if so how would you go about this? I'm having troubles getting this app to work at all.
Would you need to make an XP bottle? And if so how do you keep it running but turn off the 2000 and 98 ones I have?
I just really want to find a way to use the latest messenger at the same time as OS X is running. If something like parallels is better to use I'll go down that route. But I don't know how to connect to the internet with any of those apps. I can only do it in OS X.
Well in short I'm asking is running this windows messenger possible inside of OS X anyway at all. And if so how is it done.
I had a look at the compatibility list and it isn't tested yet. But I did get it to work via internet explorer also through crossover. But there, Messenger does not show properly (not all the graphics are there and many of the features (games and webcam for example) just froze my imac when I tried them. So really it's not a good solution till they can get it to work.
Actually I can download it on OS X and send it to windows and it'd work. But that's a little pointless till I learn how to connect to the net in windows. I really find it a little frustrating.

I did some more digging and MSN Messenger 7 just doesn't cut it under Crossover. The good news is that Microsloth claims to be hard at work on Messenger 7 for Mac and it is to include audio/video capabilities. You may want to keep an eye out for that if that's what you need the Windows client for.
