Yep, but I'm using it anyway, its easy, lightweight, and I can pretty much ignore it.

Need I remind you that you're using Windows and that you've had to go through activation and WGA for the past 8 years if you were getting any updates from MS?

Regards.
I took a look at AV-Comparatives and I was surprised that MSE did better than Nod32. I used Nod32 for the past two years, and I started running MSE on two other machines. So far, MSE seems good. Security expert Steve Gibson gave it his sign of approval.

That goes a long way in my book. Steve Gibson is the man. I bless him every time I need to use SpinRite.

So does that mean that Microsoft Security Essentials replaces Windows Defender? It looks like MSE scans and looks for spyware just like Defender does.

Some quite foolish people bash Steve Gibson. To me, I agree with CWA, he is the dood! SpinRite has saved a LOT of peoples data also besides all his work on security.

I take is Microsoft Security Essentials is free? WGA really does not bother me or anyone else for that matter as long as you are not pirating windows. It's never given me an issue.

Yes, it replaces Defender and brings all of that into one place.
