Install windows seven on my Imac yes? or no?

I have a oem copy of vista 32 bit with the free upgrade to seven coming soon , My question is : Is it worth the effort? Even all my friend with PC's say "why screw up a good thing?" i planned on running it with boot camp and not any of the third party stuff.

Well..if you like having a ton of multiple custom theme options, and a rather fatter taskbar...then by all means. However, you may not be able to watch movies in Windows Media Center, seeing as I can't on my retail copy of 7. But, then again, you have Front Row and DVD Player at your expense, so what does that matter?

And yes, Boot Camp will run 7.

Sure, I don't see why not. 7 is a nice improvement over Vista.

Chris, I can play movies just fine in Media Center on my retail copy of 7. Not sure why it won't play on yours.

Haven't installed the retail version yet, maybe this weekend, but RC1 has run everything I've thrown at it on my HTPC.

Why run Windows on a Mac? It seems like a waste of quality hardware to me.

Yes, since you're on Vista it'll be easy to upgrade. Just run Windows Upgrade Advisor beforehand to make everything will be smooth and running and then install.

How about if you don't have a PC but have software programs that will only run on Windows and you only have a Mac? For the price of the OEM disc it might be worth it.

Apple specifically make their intel mac to run windows, hence the bootcamp software and drivers. I don't think its a waste of a good hardware. I use windows a lot and having the option to switch between OSes is wonderful.
