I know this is posted a million times but I'm still having trouble finding the right driver for my XP SP2 to recognize my sound card on my MBP 15' unibody (2009)... I've tried installing and reinstalling realtek and everything, unfortunately I'm in college and I don't have my leopards dvd with me so... Can anybody help me out?

Have you gone to the Realtek site to directly downloaded drivers? Identify your card using System Profiler while in OS X. Boot to Windows XP and go to this site. Find your card and download. Install from Windows.
Also.... you should never leave your install media behind. Go to your college book store and buy a copy of Snow Leopard. ($29) Drivers are also on there.
I tried googling it but I still can't find anything about it... Which driver am I supposed to install?
edit// I did go to realtek's website and download their latest driver... Doesn't work, and XP still wouldn't recognize the sound card. It has the yellow question/exclamation mark under the category "others"

Sorry about that. I missed your model. You need the Intel driver set for audio. Since you don't have your Leopard DVD with you, take my other advice and buy a copy of Snow Leopard at your college bookstore. You don't have to install Snow Leopard, just use the DVD to install the Intel drivers.
Otherwise you can try finding the correct drivers on the Intel web site. Their web site is a bit hard to navigate - I know I had a difficult time locating new video drivers.
Also, you should be able to identify the exact card you have by looking at what the hardware tree says it is in Windows.
I've bought the snow leopard disc and installed it, there is sound now! But the audio output is half as loud as when I'm on my Mac instead of boot camp... I turned all the volume up as high as possible but it's still really low.

Yeah, you're not alone with low sound in Windows. Not much you can do about it. Lots of folks have complained about the same thing - check all the posts about it in the Apple forums. Lots of different reasons why. Check it out here. You may have to do a search to bring up sound problems in Windows.
