I am not sure which way to go about this, or how to really even get started and would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction. I read the thing at the top of the forums about what things do what, but I would just like some clarification.

I want to just play Steam (Counterstrike: Source) with my room mate in college, and I have an Mac. Whats the best way to run this so we could play online together? I would also like to be able to run some other video-games from PC to Mac. Should i just BootCamp? And if so, could someone show me where to go to learn how to do that.

Bootcamp is really your only option when playing GPU intensive games (even though CS Source is a bit older it still qualifies). Valve does not provide an OSX version of Steam.

There is plenty of documentation available for setting up Bootcamp and installing Windows. You can start here:

You will need a licensed copy of Windows (XP, Vista, Win7 etc).
