Good Afternoon, I don't know if this is the right forum for this.
Here's the issue: I recently bought a new Mac PBP 17' it has 500 Gb, 2.8Ghz,...
I just installed bootcamp with Windows XP SP2 and FSX.
all downloaded in windows but when I want to start the game it still states that there's an issue with the video card... did I install it wrong?
I had it installed on an IMac with Paralels but that rpogram doesn't support gaming I heard...
with some games there are video card driver problems, I know I can play Halo and C&C Red Alert 2 and PKR Poker Player in boot camp but C&C Red Alert 3 will not run and I am getting a video card error too.
The reason they dont work in Paralels is because they dont use the video card (or any of the hardware) really full the same way. I think if you find a game or even one of these 3D poker apps (PKR will not work for me in my VM) that will work in Parellels you are lucky. Anything like that should be done in Bootcamp.
Mac Specs: MacBook 2.4 GHz, 4 Gb, 320 GB 7200 RPM WD Scorpio, OS X 10.6.2, Win 7
To the OP:
Make sure you meet the system requirements for running FSX. According to MS you need:
Windows XP SP2 / Windows Vista
Processor: 1.0 Ghz
RAM: Windows XP SP2 - 256MB, Windows Vista – 512MB
Hard Drive: 14GB
Video Card: 32MB DirectX 9 compatible
Other: DX9 hardware compatibility and audio board with speakers and/or headphones
Online/Multiplayer Requirements: 56.6 kbps or better for online play
If there is an issue with the video card, try downloading the latest Windows drivers for the card that's in your new MBP. Your machine should easily handle the requirements but check anyway.
I have mbp 15" 3.06 ghz i bought it 2 months ago, I dont have problem running with windows vista 32 bit on bootcamp. I played call of duty 4 on it.
I think you forgot to insert the MBP cd after you installed the Windows OS. that is the only way it solved my problem with games on windows OS.
Nope man thats not the problem, because sure he can switch between OS's like so that can't be the problem because you can't get out of windows easy if you don't install any of the drivers =)

Hmmm I installed FSX on a 2006 2.2 GHz MBP runnin Windows XP SP2, and I had no problems. I even installed the expansion pack for FSX. You might want to try re-installing the drivers from the mac disk. My video card was more than ample.
