Windows - Monitoring inputs in recording software on Windows Bootcamp

In Garageband when I run OS X, I can plug my electric guitar straight into my MacBook Pro and I can play and hear my guitar even before I hit record. However when I run Cool Edit Pro in Windows on Bootcamp, I do not have this option. I have to record my track and then play it back to hear how it sounded. Why does this work in Garageband on OS X but not in Cool Edit Pro on Windows?

By the way, I also run Cool Edit on my PC and I do not have this problem.

Any help is much appreciated. Thank You.

Andrew
