Windows - Using Windows OS from Dell on new MBP

HEy Folks,

Am I correct in assuming I can NOT use the Windows XP opearting system DISKS from my old Dell with my new Mac Book Pro?

I want to have Windows on it and use Boot Camp. If I have to buy another copy of Windows... Which version should I get, from where, and why?

Thanks
JW

Correct, you can't use those Dell disks. You will need a new, full version of XP SP2/3 for Boot Camp. The cheapest are the OEM system builder's versions; I got mine from newegg.com. I think they are 90-100 USD.

Note that the OEM versions have slightly more restrictive licensing terms than the full retail version, as it can only be used on one computer - period.

Cheers
