Boot Camp problem!

Okay, so this isn't a very big problem, but it still troubles me.
When I view the Windows hard drive on Mac, some files 'disappear'. It sometimes does that, while sometimes it is all there. And I'm talking about just a regular .jpg file, or an .avi file.
Does anyone know why, or how to fix it?

Mac Specs: MacBook 2.4 GHz, 4 Gb, 320 GB 7200 RPM WD Scorpio, OS X 10.6.2, Win 7
How is the Windows partition formatted? NTFS? FAT-32? Are some of the JPG or AVI files hidden or locked?

Regards.

NTFS. And the .jpg/.avi files I looked for when in Mac were not hidden or locked.
