Best way to integrate description into website for SEO

I would like to not only get the title on the SE radar, but a description as well. Like, FatFotography.com -an inspiring collection of photos for overweight people Can you tell me the best way to insert that subtitle into my webpage, so I can achieve this? Or is it more in the links I post on the internet? Thanks so much.
