Website Prob

Ok, i got a mac thats fairly new. I have a website and i am gonna change it and make a new look with iWeb. I go to the ftp server of the site, and it makes a special looking folder for that site on the desktop.I think, oh cool, this will make it alot easier. It won't let me modify the folder or login to the ftp account. What the heck do i do?

Also, with iWeb, how do i make links? And how can i make a picture a link?
