Update - think I figured this out
I figured out my previous problems which had to do with missing folders in my primary account. This is all explained below.
HOW TO FTP THRU DREAMWEAVER TO GO DADDY SHARED HOSTING USING A SECONDARY DOMAIN NAME To veteran members here...I'm posting this in case someone else is having a similiar problem...is this the way to do it? Should I start a new thread? MY SET UP
What I needed to do on the Go Daddy end:
Did you remember that the changes you made at Go Daddy may take 36 HOURS to go thru? You can FTP this way with any FTP program, this instructions for DW would be pretty much the same, although diff FTP programs use slightly different names for the "path". You can figure it out! You need 4 things: 1. the original/primary domain name, 2. the path of the domain you're FTPing, 3. the user name, 4. the password. Just figure out where they go and you'll get it done! Good luck, hopes this helps someone. The 1/2 hour that they mention would be until their servers realize that they need to start accepting anything coming from that URL. Until such time that your new server is set up, you can always access it via the IP address of the host. Unfortunately, I can't remember what I had to do with GoDaddy when my URL was being switched.
