How do you make moving icons with your own pictures? Is there any free application that can do that for mac? Thanks!

You will want a program that can make interleaved GIF files, which is the normal approach. The only program I know that is free that has this capability is GIMP. There is a Mac OS X version of GIMP, so this could work for you.

GIMP does require you to also install Apple X11 by the way. Apple X11 is available on your OS X install DVDs.

Does anyone out there know of other animated GIF builders?
