But just like GMail, Dreamhost disk space and bandwidth grow each week. I've been with them a year and it's more than doubled my initial space with no extra cost. You could always start with the next plan down for 19.95/month and let it grow and grow.

Does 1and1 do that?

I might be wrong, but I can only guess that with dreamhost, you're getting your own dedicated server? For that price, you better be...

Dreamhost has a monthly setup fee if you pay month to month, if you pay for a year the setup fee is gone. Dreamhost also has free quicktime and real streaming that is a 1 click setup. You can also host unlimited subdomains and get 24,000 pop email accounts. Dreamhost is worth a look, I got their basic 9.95 a month account and its $120 a year, with the $25 mac-forums discount its under $100 and a still a super deal.

An acquaintance of mine has purchased the cheapest 1and1 package and asked me to set up a page for here. I find their setup rather confusing so far

I've got dozens of customers hosted here: http://www.colossalhost.com/specials/freewarepalm.html though

I has a signijer.
