Search Engines, base there results off content, the more content you have, the better changes are you will show up higher on there list. First you need to submit your site to google, and then work on keyword content.

Meta Tags are searched by Yahoo.
Google searches the site for content
all search engines require links to outside sites, they won't find you if you are not linked through out the internet. They don't search every single file on every server on the internet when you run a search they search pages that are linked to each other.

So make sure content is in META tags, and though out the pages and that you are linked to external sites.
