I'm experiencing a problem with Iweb (v.3.0.2) since V.3.
I built a very visual site, using lots of pics- I like the original slideshow- feature. When I post my site to my mobileme- account everything is fine- Hout van Bomen However if I do something else than posting on MobileMe, like posting everything local, or FTP to my regular URL at my STP's, its not only the slideshow that disappears, but the whole picturegalery altogether- I tried making a new page: same result. (please see www.houtvanbomen.com but I will have something to point to my mobileme account to fix this within a few days-) So I reckon this problem is NOT FTP oriented, it CAN work like I mean it to, but only on MobileMe. It looks as if MobileMe has something working that the other's dont- Intended next step: Order the new version, zap the old one, and see what happens when I make something new- Interested in learning other peoples experiences- I LIKE I web.. Its very simple and the attraction is that it looks good on any browser or system, so far.. Best, janharm |

I believe I am right in saying that the slideshows in iWeb only work if the site is hosted on MobileMe.
There are of course HTML/CSS/Javascript workarounds to present slideshows in iWeb, you might try googling "alternative slideshow iweb" and see what pops up, but most are pretty complicated by comparison with the MM method. |

I could see that Apple probably MEANS to have the reallyreally cool slideshows on dotmac and now mobileme exclusively.. Earlier I worked around this by first uploading to dotmac, then download to my local folder, then upload to my ISP.. But Hmm.. I should be able to see my regular slideshow, right..? I tried with a new page: same thing. (btw I posted a pointer to my regular URL pointing to mobileme.. a workaround for now- But anyone can understand how a galery without the pics looks.. ![]() Thanks JH |
