Where does iWeb save?

I have tried doing a search on this but I can't seem to find the answer.

Where does iWeb save its files to?

On my computer it saves them in the 'Sites' folder under my user account.

It seems to save them there if i export the website to a folder, but not when I just click save.

I am assuming it uses some kind of repository like iPhoto?
