TextWrangler, TextWrangler, TextWrangler

However, if using HTML is your life (ie... you're a webdesigner who needs HTML editor to make a living) you will be much better served by the supergood (and superexpensive) BBEdit (http://www.barebones.com/products/bbedit/index.shtml)

By the way, I'm *impressed* that you used Notepad for HTML when it doesn't even have syntax highlighting or any features that are actually useful. :mac:

I personally think that SubEthaEdit is by far the best text editor on Mac. It's also free...

I always thought that a text editor was something very personal... I use
XEmacs and I am SO used to it that it would be difficult for me to change :)

Like I said in a different thread, I use PageSpinner, it does everything I need, and it is reasonable.

Simple text editors are the best!! Dreamweaver and all alike get in my way, I only use a program from microsoft called WebMatrix when I have to for complex C#/ASP.net projects, most of them I crank out in notepad. Nothing is worse than a stupid editor thinking it knows what you want to do when it is wrong!! You can get by with Mac's textedit if you are using notepad. Although I am a software engineer, and I deal with Java/C#/C++/PHP all day long and my design and graphical skills are not superb, I get done what needs to get done.
