Got the message that mac mail on the web was unavailable. Can only guess they are doing some kind of update to it.

Same, I've been down since about 1400.
Edit: That was weird, it was just up again for about 10 seconds, then started giving me errors again, what's going on?!

Same here. Exactly one day after I canned my Yahoo address and told everyone to use my .mac one. Good times.

it is rumored that they are doing a totally new thing with .Mac at WWDC, I'm sure that is what they are/were testing.

I guess .mac being down for a little while is not the end of the world since my Yahoo mail was taking anywhere from 3 minutes to 3 days to send a stinkin' email anyway. And I was a PAYING customer. I loved my Yahoo email for years, but there is no way I am paying for that kind of service. Plus I LOVE IMAP.
All is good now. I turned off SSL yesterday and everything worked. I turned it back on this morning and it is still working. Just an FYI in case this happens again!

The was a fire at a large data center in Houston at the same as the .mac outage. But it may have been coincidence. I really wish Apple would be more upfront on explaining what happened. Not informing us leaves us to guess, which is probably worse than what really went wrong!
