Time Machine Issue

I did a search and did not find a answer to why Time MAchine just hangs.
Sorry if I missed it. THe screen changes to the correct one and the days etc. seem to be there on the right side of the screen, but it just will not allow any thing except a forced quite from there.

There may be other factors, of course, but based on the databases that I've read, the biggest reason seems to be an un-updated version of Leopard. That was a major issue when Leopard came out but the 10.5.1 update seems to have fixed that particular issue.

Thanks for the reply. I have done the software updates and still have the issue. Stetting to look like the only option is a complete reinstall.
