Thinking of switching but I need to make sure it will do everything and more my PC does or else what's the point! Although I'm not a big gamer, I still like the odd 1st person shooter. How well do the latest games that are available for mac play on the 2.4GHz/ATI 2600 pro iMacs?
Many thanks in advance Steve |

I would believe that they would run very well...
All my games work great on my mbp's Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT "The forums are not only a place to have questions answered, they are a place to be part of a community..." |

Which games are you running and at what settings and resolution? The iMacs only has an ATI 2600 pro which by PC gaming standard isn't much. It's only a £50 graphics card. |

If you plan on playing the latest and greatest in games and expect to do so in a high resolution with high graphics details, forget the iMac. Today's games pretty much require having dual-SLI cards to get the bus bandwidth needed for the best experience and you can't get those in an iMac or a laptop of any kind. Heck... I have a new Mac Pro with the lower-end dual-SLI graphics card option that was available and it's not handling BioShock very well with full details at my monitor's native resolution.
