How do I uninstall applications? Do I just delete the associated .app and files manually?

Yes. Go to applications folder and simply drag them to Trash.

However that most likely will not remove all files associated with a application. AppZapper on the other hand will do just that.

Yes appzapper will indeed do this but be carefull because sometimes it may accidentally delete files that are not associated with that application!

After six or seven tasks, I've never run into that or any other issue. As a matter of fact, I've never heard that?
