I just got my first mac (very fine machine by the way) and whenever i close the lid or load a dvd my dvd drive makes a very loud noticeable clicking noise that I don't if this noise is normal or not. Also its a slot loading macbook!

the noise when you insert a disk is normal, it's a byproduct of the slot-loading drive. I don't know why you would hear it when you close the lid, though...
