When i tried to boot up my MBP it would get stuck at the hour clock with the apple icon and wouldn't do anything.

So I popped in my OSX dvd and the only option I have is to reinstall the OS however, I now don't have enough space for the install.

What can I do to fix this?

I prefer to restore it and not lose any of my data.

If you can boot up with the install CD, you should see Utilities in the top menu when the installer comes up.

Try and access Disk Utility from this, see if you can fix the disk and restart

Try that first then tell us how it went

You could buy an external drive, install on that, see if you can read the internal one at all and if so copy your stuff. Then reformat the internal one and do the install in the opposite direction or use a replication application to copy the external drive to the internal.

Do you have any local Mac friends that might be able to help you out? Your stats don't show where you live.

I reinstalled the OS over writing the existing without formating the partition. But what do you know, I can't access the old information.

I do have 2 partitions on my drive, so I could of probably done that in the first place, no?

Oh well, looks like I'm gonna go back and wipe everything then reinstall the OS.
QUOTE Thanks
