In just about every torrent program i tried; Transmission, Bittorrent, BitRocket (currently using) every file is either downloading at 1kb or none at all, usually being none at all. When i go into preferences to configure the network, it says it is unable to map ports or they have been mapped manually. Whats to be done?

You need to forward the correct ports in your router.
Go to www.portforward.com and search for your router there for instructions on how to do so. If it's not there, post a request on the forum for some more help, giving the name and model of your router. Also, try Azureus too, it's better than all of those!
