Mac Specs: 15" MBP, 2.33 C2D, 256, 4GB, WD 320 7200, 10.6 - MB, 2.0, 2GB - 4th gen Nano - 2 iPhones
After installing Leopard - stick in your Tiger disk - go through the options and you'll find one for installing Applications only - use that one.

I made this mistake...
When you run you 'Install Bundeled Applications' installer, look out for a 'customize' button or something.
When you click on it, it will allow you to chose which applications you would like to install. Make sure you choose only the applications you want (iLife). There is alot of trial/junk software there.

No need to clean install. Just put the Leopard DVD in and it will ask which drive you want to perform an upgrade to. Click your HD and it will install and keep all your iLife 08 programs.

If you did want to erase and install, you'd click on 'Customize' and go to another screen.
