Mine's always on! I only shut down my mbp when I have to travel and won't be back within a couple days.

it is not bad to put your macbook to sleep when you are not using it.
I would leave it plugged in, but sleep does not use that much battery.
I only shutdown when I need to; switching to windows, software installation, etc..

i shutdown every night, I dont see any reason to leave it running. It only takes 30 seconds to start in the morning so its not a huge hassle for me.

mknabster is an unknown at this point
That's what i do too, shut mine down at night. When i'm not using it during the day, i put it into sleep, it's more convenient for me.
