I went down to the apple store to check out Leopard. Ok, it's an operating system.

I fell in love with iWeb/iPhoto though. I was sitting there making web pages doing things I just hadn't been able to do in the PC world. I often like to put graphs on my web pages. That usually means getting images of them, uploading images so they're available, and selecting them. Not THAT painful, but not that pleasant either.

In iWeb, I copy the graph from Numbers or Excel, paste it onto the Web Page, done. Happiness.

If I want to copy sections of text, copy / paste into a text box in iWeb, done. Happiness.

iPhoto has just enough image manipulation to make an amateur like myself happy, and not so much that I get lost in the options.

Anyway, what started as a scouting mission turned into a purchase of a 24" 2.4 iMac with a 1 gig upgrade. Done, Happiness.

This is the first time I can remember ever using a computer and having it do exactly what I want it to do, as I think it should be done without fighting the machine. I actually had fun with it.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Although we're happy to see you here, if every person posted a whole new topic when they bought a Mac, we'd be inundated :-)

Well I for one am glad you posted your experience...Since this is the Switchers Forum I think it's not only good to hear about a successful migration it's also very appropriate and important for the newbies...

After nearly 20 years on a PC I'm about to switch to a Mac...Lots of questions and apprehensions but the more posts I read like yours the more I know I'm making the right decision...And you can bet that when I'm up and running I'm gonna start a thread to announce my switch...

So inundate away...!!!

Well it finally arrive last Tuesday! Unfortunately/Fortunately I was in Washington D.C for a conference, so I had to wait until Thursday to get my hands on it. Coincidentally, my Dell laptop gave up the ghost at Dulles airport on the way back - fate I beleive! Loving it so far, think I need to get a book so I can get the most out of it!
