hi, if i brought an external hard drive to store my movies on etc? would i be able to access this through my front row remote? and play the movies from there...

Not for sure, I wouldn't see why not.

I'll leave this up to someone else considering all I have used FrontRow with is music in iTunes.

you have to create an alias of the folder with your movies in it, and put the alias in the Movies folder. That's the only way to 'trick' Front Row into looking into another folder
