Just wanted to say hello and thank you all for your posts, which I have been lurking for a few days, gathering information so that I could make a somewhat informed purchase!

And today I made the switch!

I ended up purchasing two MacBooks, one for my business/school and another for an employee. I decided to go with refurbished, since it seemed like it would be a good deal, hope I get some problem free and upgraded MacBooks… “Knock on wood”.

What I ordered: One white and the other black.

Refurbished MacBook 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
13.3-inch glossy widescreen display
1GB memory
120GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Built-in iSight camera

Anyways, I’ll be posting/searching here a lot since I’m extremely new to Mac OS X. Although my girlfriend is a Mac user!

Congratulations on your purchase and the switch.
As a recent switcher I must say I am really pleased...although there are some hardware related issues on the Mac (like non-existent drivers for some accessories). But that's a small con regarding the hassle free workflow you get with OS X.

Thanks for the welcome!

I checked the status of my order, which I placed yesterday (8/1/07) before posting, and my items shipped today (the 2nd) and it says I should receive them by the 3rd! That's really fast!

From what I've seen a lot of refurbished MacBooks ship from the Sacramento CA area? Is this correct?

Welcome to the club - the waiting club, anyway. My MBP should be shipping next week. You MBs will probably arrive sooner than my computer will. haha well, enjoy your Macs!

Both Macbooks came in on time (the 3rd). Both work fine and look new, no blemishes or scratches. Apple is so 1337.
