mac connected to T.VI connected my MBP to my T.V using a DVI to HDMI connection.
I assumed that I would have been able to get sound right away. But this wasn't the case. I had to connect an RCA to the back of the t.v to the headphone jack to get sound.
Shouldn't the HDMI be the only cable I use? I tried everything to get the sound without the RCA but nothing helped.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks

- Specs:
- 2.5ghz Penryn MBP, 4 Gb Ram, 512mb 8600M GT, 250gb HDD & Black 30gb iPod, Black 16gb iPhone 3G
the DVI output of your MBP, only carries the graphics. as does all DVI connections.
you will need to, as you have found out, connect the audio from the outputs to your TV/amp too.
