This is an open source only download portal, provides top few programs per catagory (file sharing, ftp, music, web browsers, im clients, etc.)

http://www.opensourcemac.org/

All of the programs are free to download, and also usually very simple to use, a good way to get used to OS X while not committing to any software purchases.
