When I now click on some news sites, they request a player but when I downloaded one, it was for (Eeewww!) Windows! What do you gentlemen suggest I add to my Mac?

Thank you kindly,

Grandma Bear

Hi the bear track

Have a look at this programs page. Many people here reccommend Flip4Mac and VLC. Both are listed on this site free and downloadable.

Flip4Mac lets you watch WMV videos using Quicktime and VLC plays a lot of formats; there's also Chroma, DivX Player and Cellulo.

+Macbook; 2.16 GHz, 2GB Ram, 320 HDD, SuperDrive.
+Mighty Mouse Bluetooth.
+iPod Video Black 30GB.
+iPod Nano White 2 GB

Perian is an excellent plug in for QT that lets you play virtually any format in QT.

core20 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Mac Specs: Mac Book Pro 17" 2GB Ram, Intel Core Duo

perian is good, but their are some things that will not play in quicktime, so the best all around video player i have seen, which is better in my opinion than quicktime is VLC. With that you will probably never have a problem, VLC plays literally anythin...
