hey guys can anyone recommend a app that will let me convert word doc's to pdf's? i dont mind if i have to buy.. free would be better

OS X does this without the need for extra software.
Just click on the "Print" dialog in your .doc and choose "Save as PDF" from the PDF Button in the print window.

You already can do that. Open the .doc file, go to File - Print. Choose PDF - Save as PDF from the bottom of the print menu.

This is a built in feature of OS X.
