DVD Player

I have a two month old macbook, and I use the DVD player that it came with. I have several problems with it. First, the subtitles will not go off, even if I tell them too. Futher, about every other movie the DVD player will unexpectedly quit or freeze. If it does freeze, the system monoter will not force quit it, and I have to restart my computer. Is this normal? What can I do about it? Is there a better player? thanks

nobodys gunna take this one on?
how about: the subtitles will not go off on the DVD player either, any ideas? I have clicked the subtitle button several times...

No... It is not normal... Take it to apple and have in fixed under warranty.

Also, give VLC, mPlayer, and Quicktime a try.
