Can anyone tell me what Mac system would be best for playing games? I know a G5 is, but would an iMac be good, like be fast enough to run games nice and smoothly.. ?

I don't see why not....as long as you have plenty of ram, and decent video card, and your game....

Just make sure you have lottsa ram. My imac is ok for games, Ghost Recon, Dungeon siege, Americas Army, Sim city 4 etc...
It does lag sometimes though.
