I am looking to purchase a guide book for os x but I'm not sure which one to get. I have heard good things about the Missing Manual. I also saw a guide called Mac Basics Superguide for sale through the macworld website. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Missing Manual from me too.

A longtime Windows user friend just switched and she bought the Tiger Missing Manual as she was about to give up and send her brand new iMac back and that book saved her relationship with her Mac.

Missing Manual is pretty good but it covers only basic OS X functionalities. If you are looking for something deeper try Mac OS X Unleashed.

Agreed. Also, if you're looking for a "power user's guide", check out Running Mac OS X. I've been reading through this little gem and I love it.
