I am new the world of Mac. I am just learning about Preview. So far it seems to be a PDF reader. I was hoping to use it as a type of Acrobat program... Can it be used in this way? If so how? Is there anything out there that would enlighten me? I am reading what I can from the missing manual series of books. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Preview is an image viewer. It will open PDFs, JPEGs, GIFs, TIFFs, PNGs...most every common image format.

To create PDFs, Just select File > Print and click the PDF buttonmenu. You can do this in any application under OS X.

To edit PDFs, you'll need Acrobat or another application.
