I have been reading here about repair permissions & when it should be used etc. Was just wondering where you find that & how do you run it ??

You can perform a permissions verify and repair from the Disk Utility located in your Applications folder under Utilities.

This Repair Disk Permissions thing has been fixed in Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.x) but it was indeed an issue in Mac OS X Panther (10.3.x).
