Now, I'm sorry that I already posted this already but no-one answered me!!!
I want to get a G5(See spsecs). I can get it as early as March, and as late as July. I'm afraid that if I buy a G5 now, soon after that there will be upgrades. I heard that apple may update the PowerMac line, so my main question is .... Should I buy now or later? |

They will most likely be updating within the june-august months so I would probably wait since the summer upgrades are usually the most significant

thanks for the help!
well, when the summer updates are released, what will happen to the single 1.6 G5? Will it still exist? If so, will the price be the same? If it doesn't what will it be replaced by and how much will it be? Thanks, I know that little blurb above ^ is kind of confusing, so read it slowly!!! :p Thanks Last edited by ApplejustWorks; 02-29-2004 at 02:52 PM. Reason: Spelling |

Since the 1.6 is their low end G5 (oxymoron I know) I think it will be 2.5 2.8 3.0 at the summer release something like that Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System |

okay, well that sounds great! When you say 2.5, 2.8, 3.0, do you mean all dual? and what will the price of the 2.5 probably be? Last edited by ApplejustWorks; 02-29-2004 at 04:10 PM. |

they probably will not be all dual and those are just guesses. the most expensive will most likely be the dual 3ghz
The prices are going to be just what they are now just with the newer equipment like they have done for the powerbooks and iBooks 1800, 2500, 3000 Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System |

Wow! well that certainly would be amazing, a 2.5 GHz G5 for only 1700! One last question, as I am sure you are aware of, the current single processor models use some older technology(PCI instead of PCI-X, Expandable to 4 GB instead of 8GB, slower ram) will all of the newer models have the new technolgy or the older technology? Thanks  |
