I just got a brand new baby MacBook Pro and I wanted to know two things:

1. Is Limewire safe or will it cause more of the same problems like it did on widows and;

2. When I tried to download it, it said something along the lines of "This is a binary file." and it wouldn't let me save or open it, it just had the option to minimize the screen or to cancel.

I know this is a novice question, please don't ridicule me

Thanks in advance!

if you want a p2p program for mac osx, then check out Acquisition. this program works almost the same way as say napster or limewire, and also when you are finished with your downloads, itll automatically put the music into your itunes library for you.

Limewire for the Mac works fine. Make sure you download the OSX version.

Even though I use Acquisition myself, Limewire does the same for you.

I agree with that statement 100% I use iTunes alot and the only times I have used p2p software was when it was something that can not be bought and non copyrighted material
